Coriolis effect, referred to as Coriolis force, is a description of the offset of the linear motion of the particles in the rotating system due to the inertia relative to the rotating system. Mass flowmeter is a typical application of Coriolis force. It allows the measured fluid to pass through a measuring pipe in vibration. The flow of fluid in the pipe is equivalent to linear motion. The vibration of the measuring pipe will produce an angular velocity. Because the vibration is driven by external electromagnetic field and has a fixed frequency, Therefore, the Coriolis force received by the fluid in the pipeline is only related to its mass and moving speed, and the product of mass and moving speed, i.e. flow velocity, is the mass flow to be measured. Therefore, the mass flow can be measured by measuring the Coriolis force received by the fluid in the pipeline.
